HARMONY AND BEYOND

much Eurasia’s heartland: discrete space composed of isolated, practically independent islands, bewildering variety of tribes, cultures and political systems. Previously PR was an arena of competition between PRC and Taiwan’s administration and that, apparently, was far from being the best option in matters of regional security, political stability and economic development in this area. Recently, however, there have appeared signs of cooperation between mainland China and Taiwan precisely on the basis of synergy principle: an informal solidarity in solving the most urgent and easily solved problems in this region for the sake of common interests of all sides, including local population. The same policy is being implemented now by China for Eurasia in her famous project “One Belt, One Road”. It is the decisive step in putting into practice the principles of synergetic relations.

East Asian synergetic commonwealth apparently possesses a great global potential. The globalism of Western Modernity, based on subjective reason with all its built-in limitations and innate violence, has no real universality. On the contrary, synergy by asserting liberation of people through mutual support restores the fullness of human existence. This truth is quite unambiguously expressed in some classical Taoist sayings like: “support the self-so being of everything”, “to welcome others by the Void” etc. In any case, for action to be truly efficient, it should have the nature of assistance or following (sui随,shun 顺,cong 从,yin 因). Moreover, following as the way to get back to the source of existence precedes all finite actions just like similarity and mimesis precede self-identity. Thus following qua reacting bestows safety. This is a genuine testimony to the “living body” of the world.

It seems, we should drop the idea of the “flat world” where individuals somehow live in peace by virtue of their transcendental reason. Truly universal globality presupposes the co-existence of at least two mutually non-transparent world systems: the one based on the concept of (presumably) independent individual, the other – on the synergetic communion of, as Gilles Deleuze used to say, “dividuals” with its hierarchy of enlightened and morally responsible minds. In geopolitical terms, they can be defined respectively as Euro-American and Euro-Asian world systems though they will hardly exist as actual geopolitical units. In any case, the legacy of Chinese tradition is destined to become a key component of the latter system.
